WE MADE IT!!!

Okay, we don't have any photos yet, but next time.  Just an update on all that is new here in Argentina.  We arrived last Friday at the site and we were greeted by cheers and hugs and kisses and clapping.  We felt right back at home.  Many new IV's here from all over the US.  We arrived at lunch time just in time for pizza.  We didn't do anything physical until Monday, but on Saturday night we were invited to a brother's house in our new congregation.  The name of the congregation is Ciudad Evita Spanish.  Anyway, from an aerial view, the city is in the shape of the profile of Eva Peron.  We had carne asada and chorizo and it was very good.  Also a marinated eggplant that was good.  We are going to try not to eat so many sweets, but they had ice cream, three scoops and we couldn't pass it up.

Sunday we went to our first meeting and it was very nice.  We miss Canuelas Norte and the friends there, but on Saturday afternoon Nico and Cesi and Celeste and Violeta and Marcos came to visit us.  That was such a treat.  Baby is due any time.  Then we will see Olivia.

Monday Neil was on the backhoe and I was back in the dining room.  Things are pretty much the same.  We are now living on site in the school for single brothers.  Now everyone is here on site and it makes it much easier.  No commuting and we don't have to get up so early.  Since I am over 50 I get an hour off.  I can either take it at the end of the day or at lunch.  I take it at lunch and then return at 2 and stay till 5.  Our meetings are Thursday night and Sunday at 6.  We wanted to go out in service today, but we were so tired still recovering from jet lag and vigorous activity that we overslept.  But next weekend.  We don't have a kitchen but we brought a grill and this morning Neil made hash browns, eggs, and Spam in our room.  That was good.  This morning we also listened to the first part of the District Convention on our computer.  We are so appreciative of that.  The special assembly will be in Canuelas, our old home, at the assembly hall there in October.  Everyone is so excited here about it and they have lots of things going on for the brothers when they arrive.  If you are so privileged as to get to come, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Well, I am going to do the breakfast dishes and then we will listen to more of the convention.  Next time we will send photos of the progress.  It is looking wonderful.  Also, on Thursday, our assistant construction overseer Marcos and his wife Theresa were transferred to Cartagena Columbia to begin a new assembly hall there.  He will now be the construction overseer there.  There's a lot going on in Jehovah's service.  We heartily encourage everyone to see if they can come and help.  Of course, this is all necessary because of the preaching work that also has to be done.  We love that too.

Love the Shaughnessys
